Re: Prolapse advice please - not for the faint hearted

not quite sure why I'm waving cheerily, but I am also awaiting some fanny physio (love that phrase!)
In fact the physio just phoned me today to arrange the appointment as I have been waiting for 3 months since seeing the Consultant

I went to my GP early this year after finally deciding I needed to be checked out. I only have 'stress incontenance' and believed there wasn't much that could be done, aside from doing pelvic floor exercises rigorously. (which I admit to not being very good at )
So anyway I saw a Consultant and he says there is every chance the problem can be cleared up with assistance from the Physio - great news! I feel an idiot for waiting so long ... however, I only realised I had the problem when I started Exercising properly. I think its very, very common and so any women just 'put up with it' when there's really no need.

ladies, well done all of you for taking action. I've had a lot of embarrassing doctor visits so you have my sympathies but it is worth it in the end xxx

Re: Prolapse advice please - not for the faint hearted

The GP says it isn't a prolapse, thank god. (Although my crazy brain is worrying that the speculum exam pushed everything back into place before she checked.) My mirena strings are very, very low so she thinks that it has become displaced hence the pain and other symptoms. She's taken swabs as my cervix looks very inflamed and I'm having an ultrasound to see if the coil is in the right place. Still feel very on edge about the whole thing. Knowing me, I'll be a total stress-bunny until I've had the ultrasound :(

Oh Allana try not to stress too much, if the dr doesn't think it is a prolapse then it isn't and it is probably the Mirena in the wrong place. I have my appointment tommorrow morning so will update about mine then!

Thanks, Dilly! I am keeping my fingers crossed. I never had any trouble at all with my old Mirena, so this is all a bit of a shock to the system.

Thanks, VC! I know that I'm being a bit silly, especially as the doctor had a good guddle around I am feeling a bit better after a decent cup of coffee and hopefully I'll feel a lot more 'me' soon. Best of luck for tomorrow! xx

I hope you don't have to wait too long for your scan, allana, it does sound positive though

    Good luck tomorrow, VC
