How can I help my 6 year old write a short prayer about Lent?
He has been tasked with doing this to read out loud and we're struggling a bit! Over the last week or so I've explained to him what Lent is and we have gone through quite a few online resources for children but he has absolutely no idea what to say and I can't even come up with any words as examples for him. He also can't read very well yet so would need to use very simple words and memorise something.

I think that's quite a hard one for a child - especially one that's not reading properly yet.
What about something like:
Dear God
Thank you for Lent.
Thank you that we can remember you we we stop XXXX (assuming he has stopped something?)
Thank you that you love us.
Amen
(That's a joint effort from me and the Minibops - who are older and still struggled.)
Hope that helps.

Someone posted this on FB, it's for adults but might give you some ideas:

DS was talking about this last night, and made a comment about Lent being to remember that Jesus had no food or water for 40 days - he's 5.5 and certainly understood that concept, so maybe something around that?
