Should I be waking for a late feed?
My DD is 10 weeks old and now exclusively FF after various BF issues.
She's very contented and only really grizzles when she's super hungry or tired.
She now sleeps from about 7.30 (can be as late as 8-9pm) and wakes between 5am-7am.
I'm just wondering if I need to wake her before we go to bed for a further feed? Is she too young to be sleeping so long?
I'm not worried about her per se, just worrying unnecessarily probably - first child and all that.
TIA

I'd have left mine too. Did leave them in fact! As long as she's gaining weight, has wet nappies, alert etc I'd be more than happy!

Re: Should I be waking for a late feed?
I would probably leave her too, so long as she's producing plenty of wet and dirty nappies. Not sure how long too long is, but 12 hours certainly would be at that age so I would wake her at 7am or so.

Re: Should I be waking for a late feed?
I wouldn't wake her either. R slept through for that time or longer from 9 weeks onwards most nights and he's now 5 months, happy, growing and feeding well. Enjoy the sleep

We never woke M and Z for a late feed either, just fed totally on demand. All three are good sleepers (they obviously take after us!)

Re: Should I be waking for a late feed?
Both of mine slept brilliantly from 8/9 weeks.
Sadly I seem to produce children that then have crap sleep from 6-12 months but hey-ho.
Enjoy it!

Re: Should I be waking for a late feed?
As a mother of a child who never slept (I existed on 3 hours sleep per 24 hour period for three years!!), I wouldn't wake him and would enjoy the sleep. If she seems fine in herself and is putting on weight then leave her sleep.

Re: Should I be waking for a late feed?
I never ever woke mine! They'll wake by themselves if they need a feed.
I think I did try once when dd1 was having weight gain issues. All I got was a baby that was not hungry enough to feed, but not full enough to go back to sleep. I had to sit with her for a few hours until she worked up an appetite, fed and went back to sleep.
Dont do it!

I woke ds but he had his own issues. Dd slept through from around 7 - 8 until 5ish in the morning from around 3 weeks and I left her to it. Everyone was telling me that i shouldn't be feeding her every 2-3 hours during the day, which tbh was a bit of a faff but i got to sleep all night and she still got all her milk she needed. She has always preferred sleep to food even now she'll often have a nap right over lunch time.
As someone else said enjoy your sleep.Stropy x

DS/DD1 I wouldn't have woken. DD2 had weight gain issues so I would have.
