Ooooh, lots of baking going on here

The raisin and cinnamon loaf is delicious - going to be tough to resist the temptation to eat it all

I am trying to stay away from sweet stuff on account of weightwatchers, but have been doing a bit of savoury baking - apple and cheddar scones, and red Leicester and rosemary biscuits, just so I have something nice to nibble on.

That said, I did produce some gingerbread people for the school cake sale. As usual they looked like aliens but they sell quite well when covered in smarties

Been baking quite a bit, trying to remember what I've done now.

Soda bread is a regular one for me, last night we made spiced butter cookies (heart shaped and with pink icing)

Sunday I made a Lemon Tart

Last weekend it was jamies chocolate pots and Michel Roux's pecan chocolate brownies, the weekend before it was magnolia vanilla cupcakes with pink vanilla frosting, week before that it was Rachel Allens chocolate cake from her Easy Meals book - think that's as far back as i can remember

I baked with the children yesterday and today, I've just put some pics on my blog. We've done heart shaped biscuits and a heart shaped sponge. The biscuits are delicious, quite a cakey texture and really simple. The recipe is on the blog. The children like squashing them with their fingers to make a little hole for the jam.

I made some lemon shortbread with the girls the other day which was really very nice. I have the new hummingbird book untested as of yet, have been itching to bake but also trying to be good!
