Re: Chocolate cake for breakfast?
I struggle to eat breakfast, as I just don't fancy it, even though I know I am hungry. But since Christmas I have been forcing myself to have something, and now most days I have a boiled egg and wholemeal toast, or porridge. And I do feel better for having eaten it, and have got into the routine of it.
Having said all that I have no advice to give when relating it to weight, but I think in general your body really does need fuel in the morning.

Re: Chocolate cake for breakfast?
I never eat breakfast. I've started the day on a cup of tea and two custard creams for years and years and if it's Xmas it will be a cup of tea and about 5 Quality Street. Totally

There is that old saying isn't there Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper and think this really has something to it. I know if I eat a good lunch I don't need much in the evening and \i feel loads better for it, don't know why I don't do it more often really.

Re: Chocolate cake for breakfast?
Well, I am going to buck the trend and say I have found it FAR easier to keep the weight off since I stopped eating breakfast. (And lunch, generally.
) I eat shedloads in the evenings, generally fairly late, and stand on the scales in trepidation worrying how much I've put on. Today I'd lost another 3lb, and probably the only way to get it back on again is to eat breakfast for a few weeks.

Me too Red, I lost 3.5 stone recently and probably ate breakfast about once a month during that time. A nice sugary latte takes me through til lunch without feeling hungry at all.

Re: Chocolate cake for breakfast?
I'm not a breakfast eater as such, wake up with a coffee and a cigarette (ok for the last 4 days, no cigarette as I am trying to give up!). But I do tend to eat fruit mid morning, around 10ish, then a light lunch and dinner at around 7pm.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter when you eat so much as what you eat - it is total calories in vs calories expended that decides whether or not you lose weight.

Re: Chocolate cake for breakfast?
Having not read the article, I would say eating chocolate anytime, never mind the morning, is never the best choice if you want to lose weight.
