Re: I've quit midwifery!
Ha ha. Notice how it took me from the start of Jan to now to even post this. I'm scared of myself.

Re: I've quit midwifery!
I was wondering how you had been getting on. Sounds like you have made the right decision for you.
Your course sounded so much more demanding than mine (MH Nursing) - we never seem to be in and the placements have all been pretty short. I think I was totally naive when I started and underestimated just how demanding being qualified is and lets face it the money is rubbish for such a risky, stressful job. I have heard NHS Profs are really good, lots of flexability and always plenty of shifts. Good luck with whatever you choose to do next. x

Re: I've quit midwifery!
Well done you for making such a hard decision, you had the courage to go for something you really wanted at the time and it must have been hard to decide that it really didn't work for you but like you said you have achieved some wonderful things x

Re: I've quit midwifery!
oh man - i can totally relate to how you felt (i did the same with my nursing if you remember) and that weight being lifted is indescribable -

Re: I've quit midwifery!
I can so relate to everything you've said although my course appears to have been organised a bit more sympathetically than yours - I never miss anything involving the children and we get 3 weeks off every summer! However, for all those reasons, I will be working part-time when I qualify as the last 2.5 half years have been so intense, I need to redress my work/life balance a bit.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do in future and well done for making the decision that was right for you xxx
