Flea prevention in cats & dogs

What flea-preventer do you use for your kitten & puppy?
I was looking at effipro, frontline and advocate. I was considering rotating frontline/effipro with the avocate.
    They're getting on really well

We've always used Frontline (Combi) and it works well.

Talk to your vet. There are alot of dog medications that are very harmful to cats, so if they're friendly it's worth checking in case of contact/grooming.

We got stronghold for Bustercat from the vet. But it's from 2.5kg, and I don't know if they do a kitten one (it can be fatal if you give a cat one to a kitten apparently).

My mum always used Frontline and it was great but with mine it did nothing!! Horrendous issues ensued.... (people constantly asking if my kids had chicken pox - that kind of thing!!). The vet said in many areas Frontline isn't working anymore and to get Advocate and since then....no problems at all! So I'd ask your vet and see what the local situation is.

I've recently started using advocate and it's brilliant, we live in the country so have a flea and tick problem but the advocate has worked amazingly well!

We used Frontline until last summer when we had a horribly flea-ridden few months, particularly horrible for Spider who has a flea allergy. The vet switched us to Advocate and it's been great so far

I forgot to update - the vet did effipro foR the cat and the dog had something at the vets - we have to take the dog back monthly to see the nurse for flea treatment and worming until she weighs 2kg! The appts are free.
