Re: This is odd - Anthony Worrall Thompson cautioned for shoplifting from Tesco
I know, that's weird isn't it? I suppose cheese is a staple but it can be quite expensive. And I guess it's easy to slip into a bag or pocket.

Re: This is odd - Anthony Worrall Thompson cautioned for shoplifting from Tesco
Many years ago (before children when we still went out to pubs!), we used to get guys coming into the pub late of an evening selling cheese!!!
We used to frequent dead classy places you know

cheese - bacon - steaks and chicken are the most nick-able as they are the most re-sellable but then knowing where the most regular thieves shove them when they 'on the rob' i wouldnt be buying them even if it were Kobe steaks

Fantastic

Although, to be fair, there must be something odd going on there - he can't have just done it out of pure criminality, surely?

Re: This is odd - Anthony Worrall Thompson cautioned for shoplifting from Tesco
I remember seeing an interview he did on This Morning years ago (think he was doing a book launch?) he had a very abusive childhood. Not that that is a reason for shoplifting just that i guess you never know what people have going on in their heads/issues they are dealing with. Maybe it was just the thrill of it? It wasn't as though he only did it once, maybe he wanted to get caught.

I know (well have known) people who regularly shoplift and it was just pure greed not to pay for (1) magazines and (2) smoked salmon....I'm thinking of 2 sets people I know who've told me the regularly do it. Both sets could afford what they were stealing and were old enough to know better. Both are/were tightwads.
