1K more for 10k less mileage? WWYD?

So, DH is looking for a new car, we're after an Insignia.

We've found 2 11 plates, exactly the same spec. but one is 13000 odd miles and the other is 1300 odd miles, but 1 grand more in price.

is it worth paying that extra grand for the lower mileage? My gut instint says at that age car and low mileage anyway it's not, but just wondering.

    WWYD?

It would depend on whether or not your DH is going to put a lot of miles on it - if so then it might be worth getting the one with lower mileage.

We took a gamble and bought one with a high mileage for a lower price four years ago and it has paid off (so far, its going to die tomorrow now I have said that). We have doubled the mileage which is now 100,000!

See, it would be me driving it most of the time, Dh has a van for work. So I think for the mileage I do it wouldn't be worth it. Heck I'd have a smaller, cheaper car altogether if it were me but it's his money!

Older car then yes but 11plate I would say no

I would double check spec/extras etc are the exact same though

13k miles is still NOTHING in a car these days. I'd go for the cheaper option.

I just googled this out of interest, the expected average mileage according to the AA is 12-15k miles a year so I think that would be ok on an 11 plate.

Depends on the car, if it's the sort that a boy racer would have had and ragged from new then I'd pay more for the lower mileage as there is potentially less engine damage. Otherwise I wouldn't be fussed eitherway, probably pick the nicer colour
