Re: The 2012 Running Thread!
I didn't get out yesterday after all, but laid out my running kit last night and am dressed and ready to go at 8am. I went out with a friend last night who has been running at least 4 times a week, and the difference between how she looks and feels, and how I look and feel (gained 6lb since Easter
) is huge. It's motivated me to sort myself out so I feel good again.
It's wet and blowing a gale this morning. I may end up in the canal, but I am just focusing on how good I will feel once I have done it.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: The 2012 Running Thread!
Today turned in to a bit of a triathlon! 7 mile run followed by an 11 mile cycle followed by a rather pathetic 600m swim and splash around at the outdoor pool. Think I'm gonna feel it tomorrow!!!

Re: The 2012 Running Thread!
I have now been out 2 days in a row and am feeling much better for it. Yesterday I wimped out and went around to my friend's house to use her treadmill, but today the weather was much better and I was outside again.
Well done Noo Noo. I have bookmarked this page as reference for when you tell us you've entered an Iron Woman competition
You really are inspirational.

Re: The 2012 Running Thread!
I did go out this morning but had the worst run I've had for ages
I just couldn't get into a rythmn at all and had to walk for a little bit which I'm so disappointed with - I definitely feel like I have lost a load of fitness. However I am going to build it back up as I really want to get back to being able to run comfortably for 40 - 60 mins.
Wow noo noo, very impressive!

I ran this morning too. Was going really well for the first 3K but then lost my rhythm and struggled after that

MrsD - at least you went out. The fitness will come back
Well done Jelly and noo noo

Someone said a whole ago that they didn't think Runkeeper was accurate on hills.
Last Sunday I ran a route. Today I did a similar route but almost doubled it, or so I thought! When I got home it was only 0.25km more. The extra part was down a hill, up a steep hill then round the corner it was a steady incline for quite a distance.
I took DD1 with me on her bike as I didn't fancy running alone. I was out for 29 minutes and reckon I walked for about 5mins. I had a killer stitch at one point. I might try to do a shorter run first thing tomorrow. Today's run was at 6pm so it doesn't leave much time between the two. My legs are seizing up a bit now.DS July 2003, DD1 January 2005, DD2 August 2008

When is the Great South run?
I managed two miles in 20mins, walked the length of about 6 lamp posts then ran another mile.
Previously I had only manage about 13/14 mins before having to walk. Also it was the route which is uphill for a good tens mins.
Do you all enjoy running? I feel good when I have finished but can't see me ever saying that I really enjoy it. I have to keep thing to fill my head with thoughts to take my mind off of what I actually doing.

The GSR is in October.
Keep on with the running, it does get easier. I love running but it's actually motivating myself to go that I struggle with (always shattered or busy). I find a good playlist of songs helps. I also do my best thinking when I'm running :)
