Whats your 5k PB Jelly? I first read that as 23 MINUTES off your 5k time
35:47. I've taken 3 minutes off since the end of November. I downloaded a Ministry of Sound running album last week. The continuous 5k mix is ... wait for it... 22 minutes. I suspect it may be mixed with 10 year olds in mind

    Re: The 2012 Running Thread!

We did 3.2K round an estate. We jogged more than we walked. I felt as though the jogs were long and probbaly should have warmed up a little more. I felt I hadn't got my breath back before we jogged again. This friend wanted to do it again but three of us felt we had done enough. We then went round again walking fast. I felt I needed to do this to stretch my legs out, they were like jelly.

I had a bath when we got home and now have very heavy legs. We had great fun though as we had a good gossip when we walked. I felt I could have jogged the second time roud but knew I'd be very sore tomorrow if I did. We are meeting again on Friday. We did 6.4k in total.

I did carry a drink but drunk far less than I would at Zumba. I definitely needed a drink with me though.

Just got back from my interval session at the gym 10 sets on the treadmill - it was hard but I think I may have sweated out the last bit of my cold though

    Re: The 2012 Running Thread!

I had a lovely run this morning, it's really bright and sunny (although cold). I ran with Mellt's OH who won't let me walk even if I want to I'm still getting my fitness back but I did manage to jog the whole route in 25 mins which I think is about 2.7 miles.

I should be able to run again Friday morning and maybe Sunday too, I think my mojo is coming back

    Re: The 2012 Running Thread!

Plan to run this evening while DH takes the kids to their swimming lesson. Don't think I've ever really run in the dark though (normally don't start until Spring- give up in Autumn ) - guess I should avoid the woods?! Any tips?

I would stick to roads with pavements and street lighting and dont wear black like a runner I saw the other night - I nearly ran into him. If you have one wear a fluorescent top or reflective band - I used to wear the one my son had when he used to walk to primary school.

    Have a good run

Thanks - I do normally run in black but will dig out a white t-shirt. Think I might have to go shopping....

    Re: The 2012 Running Thread!

Its dark when I go out in the morning - I stick to pavements that are lit up with streetlamps.

    Well done Mrs Dunny

Jelly, your 5k time sounds like you are a similar pace/speed to me. Im around 35 mins or just under for 5K.

Well, I need to up my training as it seems Im entered for a Half marathon in exactly 2 months time - 11th March OMG Had a phone call as I was on waiting list. For various reasons Im going for it. Collecting sponsorship for Camilles Appeal
Got a training programme which starts with 2 miles so I can do that at least Wont think about the rest I need to add on......!

Good luck for half marathon S-J - in awe.

Rather pleased with myself as managed to run just under 6k in 40 mins which considering the hills round here and stops to cross roads wasn't too bad I think!?
