Re: What was your favourite present and which was your least favourite present.....?
I got absolutely spoilt this year in terms of pretty much everything I received was perfect! Got lots of lovely Yankee candles (two Xmas-themed holders from mum and dad, with tealights and votives (okay I *may* have picked them myself
, and a huge glass candle jar and ceramic heart light shade from the kids, via my ex), and a beautiful star-print Cath Kidston purse from a Secret Santa (
), new slippers, jammies, a cookery book, a handpainted gravy boat. And a gift bag full of retro sweets from my bestie.
My worst was possibly the lavender-scented drawer liners from my Granny - but they'll be used in the girls' jammie drawer so will still come in useful!

If you buy a woman something for the house, and a man something for him himself (I am assuming he did not get something for the house?) then that basically says that she belongs in the kitchen, serving drinks, and he has a life outside the house.
I got Mr S a pair of oven gloves... among other things I hasten to add.

Shows how my mind works, I don't see wine glasses as something for the house - just a sign that I should go get drunk

Lol Bubblewrap!
Dr Spouse: that's exactly it! He got something tailored for him, whilst I was given something for the kitchen. It's not that I'm not grateful for the glasses rather that they are for us both so why label them to me only and get him somthing else ( not household related). I know that I probably come accross as a petulent child
but I am in many ways

Re: What was your favourite present and which was your least favourite present.....?
I actually would not think of wine glasses as a "house" present because they are for drinking something that takes no preparation at all and therefore pouring wine into them does not count as housework - but I can see some people might. Same for me with something to eat that takes no preparation etc. e.g. some nice biscuits or chutney.
If it was a cooking or cleaning item that I got (e.g. if someone outside the family gave me oven gloves but gave Mr S a book) then I'd be a bit annoyed. It's a touchy area e.g. both I and Mr S love Mexican food so would buy each other ingredients for that, but if someone bought me something to cook Mr S's favourite food (erm, some black pudding?) that I don't particularly like, and they knew that, I would see that as them saying "you're supposed to cook your man the dishes he likes, that's your job as a woman". Same if anyone got me something cleaning-related. We bought each other a fridge last Christmas, very firmly from both of us to both of us, not from him to me or from anyone else to me or him!

Re: What was your favourite present and which was your least favourite present.....?
My best was a voucher from my mum and dad so I can go and get some new shoes

My worst was a bottle of perfume from the kids (via DH) which he has given me before and I hated and passed it on to my mum. He said he saw it in the shop and knew I'd had it before so thought it'd be a safe bet
Obviously forgot I think it smells like toilet cleaner! Luckily he's kept the receipt so I shall change it for something else

Half a tent from my parents, half a wine fridge from MrB and some cash from MIL which has gone on boots and handbags.

Worst was one of those automatic soap dispensers from MIL and a totally random book from my mum (only because she got given 2 of the same).
