Christmas randomness! Family weirdness!

Am I strange for finding this odd? I'm not upset/angry, just rather bemused! MIL chose and bought us little presents and labelled them as from M and Z - I would have thought normally only parents buy presents from their children to give to other people!

Also, she wrapped a pair of slipper socks for M and put it in my pile with a tag with my name on, saying 'in case you get cold feet', then when I said I thought she'd mislabelled it and handed them to Max, she said it was deliberate and 'just a bit of fun'.

So what are your family's 'quirks' with present-giving or Christmas decorations?

The sock thing just shows a slightly odd sense of humour. My mum has, in othe years, given us presents from the kids. It's quite sweet as its usually a surprise for both of us

Re other christmas weirdness, there are too many to mention which probably goes some way to explaining why we cancelled all family this year and kept it to the four of us!

The buying presents on behalf of the toddlers, for mummy and daddy is lovely.

Sounds like something my MIL would do because she knows how useless my OH is.

The sock thing is a bit weird though.

I think the presents from the kids is quite cute as long as it was kept quite small and appropriate. The sock thing is just a joke I think that wasn't particularly funny but if you had realised it wasn't a mistake you could have made it funny. I would have been hamming up in front of the kids trying to get the slipper socks on - Oscar would have wet himself laughing at that.
