I'll have to think about the oranges.

Can you juice and zest the oranges and freeze?

ooh yum i love tarte tatin!

jelly the oranges are already sliced into fairly thin slices, think it might be too much faff to do that

can you do much with oranges cooking wise?

What about freezing the orange slices in ice cubes to use in drinks.

I was going to suggest freezing the slices. You could freeze them on a tray then pop them into a bag when they are frozen to avoid them sticking together. You could then pop them in drinks.

My immediate thought was punch. Or an apple cake.

Orange slices are very nice with a light spiced syrup drizzled over - sort of Moroccan dessert which you serve with plain yog/mascarpone etc. They would be a fab refreshing dessert and quite christmassy too.

Stick them in a pan with a bottle of red wine, heat and serve with some almonds and raisins

Melt it into some cream to make a sauce and pour it over the oranges

Now I'm thinking you could line a pudding basin with the orange slices and some fudgey caramel sauce then cook a steamed pudding in there. Maybe something like this http://www.itv.com/lorraine/food/steamedorangepudding/ and then pour some more sauce over the top to serve.

However, it might be a bit experimental for 3pm on Christmas eve!
