M&S didn't have the turkey we ordered

Naughty. Sounds like there have been a few glitches with their system this year (at our store anyhow) ... luckily they were able to replace it, and gave DH a bigger one than we had actually ordered. Better that way than the other way round, and very glad we hadn't left it til the last minute!

Oh goodness - I guess with any computer system something is bound to go wrong

I didn't have a much better experience in Sainsbury's - got there in the end but it was chaos and took forever!

I miss our local butcher who was very efficient (if pricey).

Phew - thank goodness they had something they could give you - imagine if they didn't have enough turkeys

I noticed our butcher had a table with tea and coffee available for people 'waiting' but I walked in and was served straight away! He lays on extra staff for 23/24 December, as so many people are coming to collect their orders. I've done the hell that is queuing up to collect an M&S food order twice - never again

Actaully it gets worse - he got home to find they hadn't put one of the garnish packs in. Which means I will have to go and brave it in there this afternoon and try and get it, if they have any left

At £12 a pop, I hope they will believe me when I tell them they didn't pack it for him. I know he should have checked, but I guess he was too worried about the lack of turkey at the time!

Phone them before you leave, ask for the food information point. Once you tell them the trouble you already had with the turkey I am sure they will just give you another pack, no problems
