Ps also With the bouncy chair... Is it the metal frame bit? I remember that being like a task from the crystal maze!

I'm not sure what is wrong with the bouncy chair. I got the frame together ok but the seat bit is at a 45degree angle to the back rest bit. I was sat looking at it thinking that something definitely wasn't right

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

Cute bump pretty Bubba. I would love to buy a skirt/dress but never know what to put on my feet. (jeans and trainers girl me!). Interesting dreams Great on the NCT classes, a friend of mine has a really close group of friends from their NCT class 6 months ago.

Kind of prepared/preparing Posie but still lacking so many things such as buggy/ hospital stuff and physical things to actually put the baby in or on?!!! (chair/cot/bouncy thing)

Peri- hoovering under the bed! I leave that to my OH! If i get down on my knees then I really can't get up

I have this image of baby Bubba hanging upside down in a bouncy chair

Have made another appointment with the Osteopath as my SPD reduced me to tears in the night Its bearable at work and in the car as I have a proper seat but in bed it is utterly painful. Hoping the osteopath can sort me out for another few weeks.

Unless I can give birth in my car seat or upright I actually cannot see myself giving birth naturally with this pain. I cannot actually get into a position that would be suitable for birth! I guess that is something to talk to the consultant in 10 days time along side all the other back/pelvis troubles.

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

PS: can anyone actually tell which way round their baby is? I always get kicks high up to the right of my belly. just below the bottom of my ribs. Where does that mean his head will be I am guessing low in my pelvis but i am not sure!

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

Amy, mine is currently lying oblique, so in my top right rib is either a bum or a head... I can decide as a lot of my movement is down low but that could be hands as I'm also getting movement in the too of my ribs. And babies other end, whether that's head or butt Is in the left side of my pelvis... I think the back is then facing my tummy as I can feel kicks and pushes almost like in my bum
so at some point it needs to either do a forward roll and get its head down or just tilt a bit to the right to get into my pelvis - does that make sense?? Sounds like your baby is the same but with it's head to the side of your pelvis and bum in your ribs. There's a good website I used last time when Oscar was breech really late on which explains all the different positions well and the best ones...here it is http://spinningbabies.com/
your SPD sounds horrendous Have you got a cushion that you could position to help you sleep? It must be driving you insane!
omg, just realised the time better get to bed!

Oh Amy I'm sorry you're in so much pain Funny you mention the car seat - I was telling DH the other day that it's the most comfortable seat we own Have you got pillows and so on between your legs? I was told to have a long pillow between my legs so my feet were level with my hips, as having your feet lower puts pressure on the hip joint. With regards to giving birth I think it all hinges on how far apart you can open your legs. Did you have any thoughts about giving birth? I guess the consultant will discuss that with you... You do hear of women having to have c-sections because of SPD. Anyway, enough of my waffling - I hope the osteopath can do something to help as it sounds miserable. I'm ok in bed as long as I stay still, but obviously frequent trips to the loo don't help!

As for baby's position, she's mostly wedged over under my ribs on the right. Every morning when I wake up there's a hard lump there, unknown whether it's a bum or a head! Then sometimes I can definitely feel a back down the right hand side as it's hard all the way down the side of the bump. She's all over the place, though. The other night I was getting kicks simultaneously on either side of my bump so I guess she was laying sideways and doing star jumps, and yesterday she seemed to enjoy kicking my bladder so I did wonder if she'd turned head up

I have quite an exciting day today as we're going for a scan!Thankfully it's a sort of nice one. My mum works on a medical research study into maternal and child health in Southampton, and the sonographer she works with (bizzarely also my mum's neighbour, so we know her quite well) needs a pregnant person to be a model to do some training for medical students. So naturally I volunteered So she's going to do a scan first just for us (and probably my mum!) so we can check everything is ok rather than potentially finding out something's not ok in a room full of medical students. It'll be useful in fact to see how big she actually is. Then there's four groups of 10 medical students coming in to see me and the bump I'm a bit nervous about having my belly out, but presumably she's not going to need to scan right down by my pubes at this stage unlike the other two scans

Oooh how exciting bubba, enjoy your scan Will be interesting to hear how she has positioned herself too!
i remember my mw telling me once that if you can move that hard lump it's a bum, if you can't manipulate it, its a head but then I'm not sure what sort of force you're supposed to use, so I'm not sure I could tell!
meant to say to you yesteay about having a moment that baby will be here soon - just remember that for the woman, your life changes, the minute you get your bfp... You've coped with that for 7 months, baby being here is just a continuation.

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

Thanks for the advice Peri & Bubba. Amazing sight (Spinning babies)- really facinating reading. I thiink my baby must be on the right too as my bump is bigger there! With the SPD, Its very odd as some days I feel that I cannot go on then I'm better the next. Have only taken paracetamol twice though. Don't have a pillow but sleep on my left with the duvet folded between my knees, feet and legs. I'm off tomorrow so going to try and buy a pillow.

That is really cool about the scan today- how exciting! It's a miserable wet day outside so a wee glimpse of baby bubba will brighten up the day. Everytime I go to uclh there are trainees peering over us all, I guess being a teaching hospital so I am getting used to being like a zoo animal!

Must get up and go to work. Yawn.

Forgot to say re baby panic... My OH said yesterday "What are we going to do with a baby"? And I just said "er, feed him, cuddle him, put him down to sleep etc" and then do it all again?!!! If anyone had heard the conversation, it sounded so immature and they would have called social services on the spot! Oops.
