    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

Ouch Bubbasweet that nerve sounds painful. My friend who is pregnant has something similar- her leg keeps giving way. She is using crutches and has been banned from driving by her consultant. That sounds fab that your OH was out with other Dads to be. I kind of wish we could have done something like that as it was a pretty shady crowd at our free hospital classes Ouch about the phone screen- mine returned home on Saturday with a Leinster hat and a flag

Hi Posie, thats lovely about the tags i will keep ours for our memory box. Great idea about the eye mask- last time I was in hospital they kept putting the lights on all through the night Good luck with the bra fitting- will wait for a few weeks before doing that.

God I have some sort of alien inside me this morning!! Baby keeps throwing odd shapes which makes me yelp! I think this ones going to be a feisty one

Meant to ask how everyone with spd is? I have good days and bad days. Not feeling great the last couple of days but pleased that it is no worse. Sitting down for hours yesterday probably didn't help plus we tried a bit of at the weekend which was lovely. First time in months and probably the last for a long long time!

Hope everyone else is ok xxx

My spd isn't bad and isn't good ATM. Just sort of pottering along with it really! Not good enough for any nookie though, although we haven't tried lately (months really!) I was reading that orgasms can help with oxytocin production which is the stuff that puts you into labour apparently, so may have to give the a go in a few weeks!

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

Hi girls...ahhh I'm so excited we have our first graduate from summer mums So pleased for you Kat
At the private rooms Amy...mind you where my sis in law had her babies it was a private ward rather than just a room so all the food etc was different but still a lot of money at a time when you have way better things to spend it on, you'll prob have at least 2 nights as well.
I don't think the wards are that bad but what I did find hard was the fact that I couldn't sleep when Oscar slept because the other babies didn't sleep at the same time as him and knowing I've got 2 lively boys to get home to, I want to try and get some sleep at hospital (I know, fat chance with a new born )

This baby has been moving soooooooo much recently, I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster sometimes.
def feeling way more tired in the last week, I'm sure I dropped off this arvo whilst watching a bit of cbeebies with Oscar

Im having my "swabs" tomorrow arvo...for MRSA I guess, it's in the maternity bit so hope I get to have a listen to babies heart beat etc.

Cant believe we're all nearly there, time seems to be flying now and I still haven't exchanged on the house Still hoping we'll be in before baby...I do not believe for a second ill go into labour before my csection date.

I looked around an autistic school for Thomas today (this is about the 4th one so far ) and I could've cried, it is exactly when my little boy needs to be, for the first time in 6 years I felt like this is where my son would fit and all the other children were just like him, I was so happy to finally find this. I know it'll prob be a long road ahead to get him in but it will be so so good for Thomas and the whole family if he gets a place so I am feeling v happy tonight about that!

Wow! Can't believe you've had your baby, Superkat - I'm so pleased for you! Enjoy your little bundle, and come and let us know the story when you get a chance!!

So pleased to hear you've found a potential school Peridot

is out of the question tonight, although we've had a few forays recently...

Had a lovely day with youngest today in the summer afternoon, but feeling very tired and irritable tonight! Is it ok to feel a little jealous that I want to have given birth by now too...?!

    Sleep beckons xx

Ah peridot really pleased you've found a lovely school and I hope it's not too difficult to get him in there Still can't believe you haven't exchanged I'd be going nuts by now

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. I'm hoping to get lots of washing done over the next few days. How sad

I appear to be out-growing my maternity clothes, just to add to the lack of clothing issue. I don't know if you remember but a few weeks ago I tried on some of my summer skirts to see if I could still get in them, and discovered I could albeit with a bump band to make things decent. Well I tried everything on again yesterday, and now only one skirt will go over my hips I am defo not buying any more clothes now, especially as I'm outgrowing what I've got, so I've decided that unless I'm leaving the house, I'll be wearing pyjamas

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

Ooh I didn't know that about Oxytocin Bubbasweet! My OH is really really worried as I told him that one of our summer mummies had popped and he had a rather pained look about him

How did it go with the docs/hospital Peri? So glad that you have found a lovely school for Thomas. Hope you can get him in.

A private room would be lovely but its such a short time that I'd rather spend the £250 on something such as a buggy rather than a room in hotel de UCL!

Think I'm nearly ready too Posie! I went to the supermarket today and felt really pregnant, dropping things and people driving their trolleys at me. The one time in my whole life that I wish they had said "do you want help with your packing" I actually might have said yes please! I had a bit of anger as I walked past the parent parking spaces as there was a young lady flew up, parked in one of them, leaped out the car on her mobile with NO CHILD!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr. I thought better of having a go at her as I thought she might have a go back and then I would have cried

Have just put all the baby clothes out on the line- the ones to take to the hospital I keep looking out the window at them

Sorry that clothes aren't fitting quite like they used to Bubba. I wear my maternity joggers at home (or pj's) with one of about 4 tops and I am still managing to squeeze into my maternity trousers. I tried my OH''s PJ's but I couldn't do the waist up!!!!!! He is really tall and skinny so no good for emergency trousers!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine! At last

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

This week I'm mostly missing the multitude of summer maternity clothes I had when I was pregnant with the girls...although I am loving the weather, as it means I can get a bucket of water in the garden with the plastic kitchen and my youngest is in heaven for a few hours.

I have two pairs of jeans I fit in to, a couple of jumpers and some t-shirts. I also bought two wrap around tops a while ago which have grown with me.

I am definitely feeling big now - by about this time every day my legs are about to give up the ghost, and I'm really missing being able to do any exercise. I'm almost looking forward to going on a healthy drive, although, I'm not naturally slim, so I think the thought is better than the reality

I have taken the opportunity of being on maternity leave by actually being organised with the household a bit - so I've meal planned, and tonight I'm quite excited about having a home made risotto for the first time. I've prepared most of it, whilst doing the kids tea, and it looks pretty good...fingers crossed.

Definitely best to turn a blind eye to the P&C spaces otherwise you will get so stressed about it! People do park in them, or park in them with their 10 year olds, and after getting all het up about it at first, I try to just let it lie. My friend had a run in with somebody about them once, and people don't back down about it - or blatantly lie that their children are in the shop already.

Right, off to read one story to youngest who showered when we were swimming earlier and is grumpy (she was up half the night coughing) and bathe the older one.

Ahh posie, hope you don't have too long to wait!

Hate that feeling of growing out the mat clothes, I was quick to buy some bits in the sale in November when I found out I was pg as they were mainly summer bits but I don't have much left that fits...it's so depressing! Don't forget though that you will prob (well maybe not) be in maternity clothes for a few weeks after the birth, I was def in mat jeans for a while and if you see any dresses in a stretchy material that you can put on I've leggings they can be a good buy as if they're clingy when you're heavily preggers, they're suitably baggy when you want to cover up your tummy. Mat clothes are depressing though, all the other clothes out at the moment look even nicer than usual sme how!!

Hospital appointment was interesting and It was just mrsa swabs...presumed they would swab my mouth but it was my nose and groin. Luckily I had to do the swabs myself but just stood there in front of the midwife with my trousers down I know they've seen it all before but there's just no dignity to having a baby!!

Those drinking raspberry leaf..how many cups A day are you having?

Off out for dinner tonight with my ante natal friends from 1st pregnancy...I'm the only nutcase on my 3rd!

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

I'm taking the raspberry leaf capsules, and it says to have 6 a day, but I'm probably averaging about 4...

Also had to do the MRSA swabs, but right at my first appointment - and they let me go to the loo and swab. Although I dropped it, and had to go back and get another one...

I've got a whole store of leggings I wore up until about 30 weeks, but now just slide down my bump, so they should be good for when I've given birth. I will DEFINITELY be in my mat jeans for a while. If I remember correctly, I struggled to go back to 'uncomfortable' waists after pregnancy - despite wanting to wear proper clothes.

    Re: **Summer 2012 mummies!**

I do have a couple of pairs of maternity jeans that fit, but I can't stand having anything touching the bottom of my bump for some reason, just above my foof, even the OTB jeans I've got do it, so I've been wearing dresses mostly since about 25 weeks. I've got a bump band on today (covering up the fact that my skirt won't zip up ), which is not tight at all, but it's peeing me off. Hopefully I might be able to wear the jeans again after she's born

I'm drinking raspberry leaf tea, only one mug a day at the moment, but I think I'm going to start having two as you're meant to gradually increase the amount I think?

I went to see the GP about my heartburn this morning and he gave me a prescription for more gaviscon (wouldn't prescribe me anything stronger) and said that I have to stop having hot drinks and food (guess I have to wait for my dinner to cool down a bit from now on ) and cut back on fruit. My two favourite things at the moment - tea and fruit I got back and had a bit of chocolate cake, which was nice, but I kept thinking "A cup of tea would go very nicely with this cake!"

Do they just do the MRSA swabs if you're likely to have a section? I've not heard anything about it...

ETA: forgot to say, we had the breastfeeding class last night, which was slightly weird. The woman kept going on about baby's instincts and that if we lie down or recline back in a chair and lay the baby on our chest, then it'll wriggle around and find the nipple in its own time. It's called breast crawl. The whole point of her telling us about it was that it was about recognising movements and things babies do when they're ready to feed (wriggling, rooting, fist clenching, sticking out their tongues etc.) She did also show us the more conventional way of breastfeeding (tummy to tummy, head back, wide open mouth etc.) so that was good too. I'm totally sure if I found it very helpful We've got a woman-only session tomorrow to go through more specifics.
