Riders were the bane of my life when I used to work in a music venue. You would not believe the very specific stuff that folk would ask for.

Quite a few of the Festivals now require donations for guest list tickets - I know at Belladrum its £20 towards Maggies Cancer Centres

some of the riders are hidden in contracts which include serious matters such as the way the stage is set up /electrics etc etc (including health and safety matters etc etc) and if the riders were spotted then it generally means someone has done their job properly

but then some do it to be pains in the arse you know the 21 white doves with peace written on them in the blood of a unicorn

i think Adeles idea is good - comp winners should have it paid by the people who have given them the tickets (ie radio/tv company) but good idea all the same

You just reminded me. I got press passes for Camp Bestival this year and it was a £30 charity donation in cash which went to the Bestival Foundation and local community projects in Dorset and Isle of Wight.
