Who sells their Flickr photos via Getty Images and what can you tell me about it (good or bad!)?
They contacted me with an interest in some of my photos...
Thanks !My blog thehealthyepicurean.eu

Re: Getty Images
I have a few listed with them, but only recently so I can't really say much about them. I know Alice l;ists quite a bit with them and gets some money from it. I couldn't see any negatives as such and the only reason I don't have more on there is because I haven't got round to do the model release forms.
Getty have always been a well regarded, professional photo library who seem to be entering the mass market/lower cost end of the market.

Re: Getty Images
Thanks for the reply Scatterbrain. As it happens all the photos they're interested in are of ds so I assume the model release will be me? I think this is why I'm a bit
about it - I've always been very very much against him modelling and I can't get my head around whether I feel differently about it if it's me taking the photos (iyswim)...
Would you submit photos of your children?

Re: Getty Images
I'm with Getty too and have submitted photos of T&L. I figured they were on flickr anyway so I may as well list them and see what happens. I've had 5 or 6 sales and made about £150. Not masses of money but better than nothing.
Re the model release, yes you will sign it and then need someone else to sign as a witness.

Thanks Cheetara - yes that's a good point about being on Flickr anyway. Maybe I should take a chill pill

Re: Getty Images
I've had my OH sign it so I think so (though we're not married so different surnames).

Re: Getty Images
I use images of the girls to promote my own business so I don't really see an issue with their images going out for wider licensed use. I always think photo's in ads/packaging etc is pretty anonymous, so why not. Any pics with the kids in that sell will put some money in their banks.
There was a rather odd one with me in it that they choose that I didn't agree to, but the others are all there. No, my only problem with the model releases is the fag of scanning them in as I don't currently have a working scanner. Must sort that out really as it's effectively free money.

Re: Getty Images
You photographers may (or may not!) be interested in submitting to Fotolia, I use them a bit for work.

Re: Getty Images
I do have some images on fotolia, but the pay is so poor (av about $3 per image if I remember correctly). Macro libraries can work well if you have lots of photo library type images to list &/or some very popular subjects so it all adds up. I haven't submitted any to fotolia for ages, though, I might try again.

Re: Getty Images
I haven't got a scanner either SB I just take a photo of the form and upload that.
