Re: WWYD? - I think teacher has kept DD's money, which isn't hers
I think parkejm's idea is a lovely one. Why don't you do that?
I think the teacher was probably a bit flustered and forgetful and it was an oversight. I might mention the cakes but the important thing is to resolve it with DD, really. She has probably forgotten about it anyway

Really? I wouldn't do anything! Teachers have got enough to do without worrying about the odd few pennies.

Has your daughter forgotten about it yet?

Agree with chicken lips! I thinking k age six teacher places a bowl on each table, and numerous times k has put all his money in there he don't know or forgets he's six and teacher don't know either!
But if she tried to explain to teacher when everyone had cakes that her mummy gave her enough money and teacher didn't listen then you should talk to teacher xx

You're getting your knickers in an awful twist at the possibility that a teacher has "embezzled" 25p.
I'd probably call 999
Its a pretty serious issue after all...

I agree with Chickenlips.... There's going to be lots of disappointments in life, we all need to learn somewhere, mistakes happen.
I'd go out and buy her a special one :).

Re: WWYD? - I think teacher has kept DD's money, which isn't hers
I feel a bit sorry for the OP now to be honest

She asked a question, she was quite het up about it but she hasn't banged on about it, she asked and now she has had a bit of a rap on the knuckles about it and is probably a bit
now.
This parenting lark takes a bit of getting used to and I'm sure we all make mistakes and overreact from time to time - I know I have and still do
Just my opinion of course

Yeah i agree with this too. These things happen from time to time and i wouldn't class this as a big deal really. If it was my daughter i'd just tell her there had probably been a mix up and she could have a biscuit or something when she got home. Also explain that the money has all gone to a very good cause and that is the main thing.
I also wouldn't just send money in with a 5 year old, it's best to put it in an envelope and write on it to explain what it is for.Jo x Wife to an amazing husband and Mommy to 3 beautiful girls

What Tigerpants said. School asked them to bring in money for something then disappointed the kids by it not happening (these things happen I know, but 5 year olds don't understand that). I don't think the 25p is the issue here, but that it wasn't explained.
