    September/October 2011 babies and mummies!!!

    Hi,

Seeing as we have all now had our babies, I thought I would start a new thread for us here in Babies & Toddlers.

Here is the list from my sig as will be replacing it soon but didn't want to not have a record of it somewhere:
White Rose - Jude (5 Sep)
    Minime - Lana (7 Sep)
Thorn Bird - Benjamin (9 Sep)
    Scrobble - Rafi (10 Sep)
    Jock76 - Dexter (13 Sep)
    Choco - Emmy (14 Sep)
    Ms.lurker - Rosie (16 Sep)
    Miss_Jane - Girl (21 Sep)
    Applejack - Alicia (3 Oct)
    Mrsironted - Susanna (3 Oct)
    Stacey86 - Lilly (24 Oct)
    CountessDuckula - Lily (1 Nov)
    Prettyinpink - Edith (2 Nov)

Lana is doing well, she is 10 weeks now and weighed 9lb 11oz on Monday. She is putting on roughly 4oz a week which to me seems a tiny amount but she is following the 9th centile on the charts and the HVs are happy with that. Will hopefully get her measured in a couple of weeks and see how long she is now, she seems very long.

She is smiling lots now and has slept through the night a few times, well 10pm til 6am anyway. She has a cold and a cough atm which S kindly passed on, so she is sleeping loads during the day because she isn't well, can't give her anything either as she is still under 3 mths.

Will try and get a recent pic on here soon.

How is everyone else and their babies?

    Hello

Thanks for starting the new thread, Minime. Sorry to hear both of your DDs have not been well, Minime and Stacey86. DD2 has had a bit of a stuffed up nose but apart from that, she has been ok. She is feeding well and putting on loads of weight Sleeping, well, some nights are good, some nights are bad. The good are starting to outnumber the bad at least!

She has her first lot of injections next week, I am dreading it! I'm going to ask a friend to watch DD1, I don't want to take them both, that would be a nightmare. I cried so much when DD1 got her first lot of injections, hopefully I'll be stronger this time round

hello everyone poor rosie is havinga tough time lately, she still has bronchitis but now she coughs so much she chokes and stops brething for a few seconds, this can happen up too 15 times in any day time, been too the dr, but they say coz its not bad enough too require a ambulance and she is still feeding there is nothing they can do so just have too watch her all the time. she isnt putting weight on but she is not well so what do they expect. then poor little lamb has had a reaction too her injections, she had a high temp then got a rash all over her. i am going too chat with the nurse next week about what we do next, but i am thinking about delaying them now for a looooooong time till i know she is 100% well, and they runa clinic at the hospital for them too have the injections there and be monitored for 24 hours so think thats where we may end up.

but i have been contacted by these people http://www.eatstudy.co.uk/ looks really intresting and have asked for more details n now waiting for rthe second call from them. who knows what will happen if i go ahead with it or not but i think i want too.

on a slighter better note rosie has started smiling properly and making sounds too

hope everyone else is doing better then us xxx

How did DD2's injections go, Miss_Jane? Rafi was great for his, cried a little as they were done and then slept for most of the rest of the day.

How's Rosie doing, ms.lurker? It must be so frustrating that the doctors can't do more. It's lovely that she's still really smiley and chatty, though.

Glad Lilly is doing so well, especially on the sleep front - you feel a lot more human when you get a decent amount of kip!

Rafi is also really smiley and hardly sleeps in the day at all - he's usually really wide awake and loves looking all around at what other people are doing - nosey parker! He's found his thumb and likes to suck it for comfort, so self-settles really well now (which is a relief as I don't have to keep breaking out the sling any more just so I can get stuff done with Max and Zoe like make dinner!). He's also sleeping between 8 and 9 hours straight at night before having a feed - he'll usually go down around 7 and not wake for another feed until 4 or so. Last night he went down at 7 and didn't want a feed until 5.40am! Unfortunately Max keeps waking in the night - not sure if it's nightmares or teething - so we're not necessarily getting as much unbroken sleep as we'd like.

    Hello

That sounds great Scrobble! DD2 is still up for loads of feeds at night but most nights, she goes straight back to sleep after the feed. She doesn't go down till quite late though. She will fall asleep some time after 7pm but usually only sleeps for an hour or 2, then wakes up for a while before having a feed then going for her big sleep. Day time sleeps are all over the place. I keep thinking if I try to get her more into a routine, then maybe she will be better at night but I just can't be bothered at the moment!

Injections were find, DD2 only cried for a few minutes and then fell asleep for a couple of hours. They didn't really seem to affect her sleeping or anything. I guess we'll get a letter about the next lot soon!

Breast feeding is going ok, DD2 feeds loads during the day, maybe about 8 times? She only feeds for 10 minutes or so at a time though. She has taken to stopping after a few sucks, then turning round and giving me a big smile, then going back on and doing this for the whole feed! Cute as it is, I do worry about how much she is actually having when she does this. I need to take her to get weighed actually, not had her weighed in a while.

    Hello everyone,

How are you and babies all doing? Is Rosie better now ms lurker?

Lana is doing well, she has settled into a nighttime routine of having a last feed at 10pm and then sleeping til 5am which I can handle. She is giving loads of smiles now, don't think my other two ever smiled as much. She is 13 weeks and got her weighed on Monday and she is 10lb 8oz and 56cm long which seems so tiny to me, C weighed that at 10 days and was 56cm at 6 weeks. She is starting to 'talk' back to us but we still haven't had any giggles yet, not sure when they are meant to start laughing, I can't wait. Bfing is going well, she still prefers the right side to the left and I think this has affected my supply on that side as she only feed for 10-15 mins on the left but feeds for 20-30 mins on the right unless it just comes out quicker on the left.

Here she is at 11 weeks

Hope you are all doing well. xx

Aw Minime, that's a lovely photo! Will try to post one of Jude this week - it's lovely to see how they are growing :-)

We had our first trip to paediatric A&E this week, Jude had croup but couldn't breathe properly and needed steroids to help him out. Bless him, he was all limp and listless bit kept trying to smile at the doctors - it was heart-melting stuff! They weighed him whilst we were there, and at 3 months he was 5.1 kilos - 11.2lbs. I'd vaguely hoped to have inched close to the 25th centile by Christmas so i suspect he's on track but haven't checked the red book yet. He still feeds pretty much every 2-3 hours day and night, and I'm holding him upright at all times (thank heavens for slings!). He is an absolutely adorable baby though - his big sister loves him to bits and his little face lights up whenever he sees her!

Has anyone heard from Ms Lurker? I'd PMed her a couple of weeks ago but have heard nothing back, in fact I don't think she's been online.
