DD2 just doesnt get this sleep lark
Shes always been a bit of a bad sleeper and she can go through a long phase of sleeping well through night then suddenly it all goes pete tong and she constantly gets up trhough night. We have tried reward charts, go glow lights, soothing music star which shines a pattern onto the wall too (woohoo!) but she just cant seem to get herself back to sleep. She is 3yrs 7mths. I am wondering if it will help if we get her big sister to share a room with her. Maybe she just wants company? Her bedroom is all the way down the hall so maybe she feels a bit detached from us? Oh i dunno anymore what to do. Has anyone else's LO been like this and what helped stop the night waking?

It's hard when they are like this. My twins can be like this at times. Particularly Daniel. Doesn't help that they are both early risers and up raring to go most mornings around 5. It was 4 yesterday morning.
I have never found anything to help tbh. It's a case of just going with it. I was advised to try and ignore them but they would wake the house if I did
!
Sharing a room might help. Worth a shot at least.

Re: DD2 just doesnt get this sleep lark
Ava is like this too. She says she gets lonely by herself and I guess there isn't much we can do about that. We haven't solved the problem (we did get to a really good place until PIL undid all our months of hard work in a week) but getting her a big bed means at least I get some sleep in there when she comes to get me in the middle of the night.
I even said she could get some Tinkerbell bedding if she didn't come to get me for a whole week - didn't work.

Re: DD2 just doesnt get this sleep lark
My daughter didn't sleep through the night until she started reception (aged 4 3/4
). I tried everything with her, seriously every trick in the book and everything that anyone had ever suggested. We even went to a sleep clinic a few times but in the end the thing she needed was the mental stimulation that school gives her to tire her out enough to actually sleep through the night!
