I will do this and it will be jan before I know it!little steps I think... Its my birthday tuesday,scan on 4th nov,sil 18th on 15th nov so I will go to inlaws for a night around then,mum and stepdad come for 5days nov 28th,dec 13th I have gtt test and hosp and mil for day,the 23rd inlaws arrive for xmas and go boxing day mum and stepdad then arrive boxing day for few days and then after nye dh will be home 2ish weeks after I can do this

Dh just rang about to board his flight and I am now in floods again but I feel my strength is starting to find its way out a tiny bit at a time and the tears are helping

I told mum I may ring but have been texting her as told her I'd be hopeless on the phone and that is helping too

Oh how awful

OH goes away once every 6 weeks or so for a week and that sucks, so I can empathise to a certain extent, but that is nothing compared to how long your Dh is away for

Oh honey, I'm not sure what your DH does but being an ex forces wife I know how hard it is to be seperated from a loved one, especially when you have little ones. I always found the first bit really hard but after a while you get yourself in to a routine and although you still think about them all the time it gets a bit easier to cope with. Once you get to half way you can start counting down the days and he will be home before you know it. Big Hugs hun

keep strong and keep thinking about how wonderful the reunion will be.

ETA, just looking at how old your DS is, my DD1 was about the same age when DH wentg to the Falklands for 4 months, she is 5 now and honestly cannot remember daddy going away at all. xx

Not the same i know but my stepdad ( who brought me up from being 9 months old so dad really

) worked away till i was 15. We all missed him however because i didn't see him all the time I kind of enjoyed him more when he was around and now really appreciate what he provided for us by earning fantastic money. Him and Mum are still together now and he still goes away a lot though not quite to the extent he used to. She always says they have such a good marriage because they are not in each others pockets and she has become a very strong self sufficient woman because of having to deal with things by herself most of the time

I hope time flies for you till he is home again

Em he is officially classed as a mercinary (sp?) But really he is incharge of an armed security team that goes from ship to ship to get ships through pirate waters (gulf of aden indian ocean etc) so maritime anti piracy work

Yes that is what we keep saying ds is young so doesn't remember and later in life he will understand why when we have the house security of savings nice things etc

My dad was navy and so I always have known loved ones going so suppose is how I do it

I wanted to bring this back up to say a big thank you xx

A weird twist but dh got to where he needed to be and his boat was cancelled and because of the country the team were flew home! He got home at 1130 tue after leaving 3pm sun!

Tue was my birthday and he rushed out got cake balloons etc and few more pressies all very unexpected but amazing :-)

Was a bit gahh when I found out as knew it meant bye again in a few days as he was straight back on standby but we have had a lovely few days

He got a call at 1 and I dropped him at his hire car at 4 so is gone again

don't feel as bad neither of us do

No 11 weeks either as although they could really do with him for xmas the left hand helps the right so they have told him they will get him home so is only away 6weeks now

He will have maybe 3 off the head back out for another 6 and work into feb before coming back for bubba arriving

I am sad he has gone and will miss him so much still and had a little cry but I feel much more positive and 40 odd days will be here in no time!

Glad I took him up on his offer of a lie in this morning lol

He is such a fabby husband and daddy :-)
