Re: Job seekers unite in here!
Jellybean that is so frustrating, they have obviously sent out a standard letter to all the unsuccessful applicants, but at least you did hear back from them, I just hate it when they don't even bother letting you know.

Re: Job seekers unite in here!
I know it was probably their standard letter, but just wound me up! Getting no response is really frustrating I agree. I have a couple of things in the pipeline though so fingers crossed

oh Jellybean what a pain! Can't stand those generic responses.
welcome Cheeky, good luck!
Had a second interview for that job I really liked (first interview was only yesterday!). Am in such a quandry though. Is a good job with good prospects better than a tedious part time job with great hours?
Also have another interview tomorrow for a company based in my home town but in full time sales (I want to do marketing).

The problem I have is childcare. I'd need to have set days so I can organise for school pick up and a childminder for the littlest (he's 21 months)
I was speaking to a school mum test whose just started a new job and she thinks they're taking on still, so she's going to ask for me.
I'm considering full time again, to be honest. I'll just see how it goes for a couple of weeks

Re: Job seekers unite in here!
I bet it will feel weird Mamamia. Good luck to you.
Well I have bitten the bullet and applied for a role that I had before having Gemma. The thing is I went back and worked 3 months on contract before I got pregnant with Lexie and in that stage I was a size 12. Now I am an 18 and it is really knocking my confidence. I just don't know how I will feel if I do go back there and people that knew me when I was skinny (although that was only for 2 years) before that I was what I am now.
Sorry a bit of a tangent but it is playing on my mind.

Re: Job seekers unite in here!
good luck mamamia. fingers crossed for you too skylark.
Well today is quite possibly been the most stressful day of my entire life.
Started by going to current employee for a hugely stressful meeting as I am taking them to tribunal. Then got offered the marketing manager role but the hours are 8.30-5 rather than 8.30-4.30 (which whilst trivial totally throws my childcare). Then got offered another brilliant job, 2 mins walk from home for a nationwide stately home org BUT only 6 month contract (with view to making in full time). Plus my road is being dug up and I have nearly crashed the car avoiding the bumps and tarmac. Then I had another interview in my village for a high adrenalin sales role which I don't want.
I am so stressed, recruitment consultants phoning me constantly trying to get me to make a decision (all roles are full time so I am deeply upset about spending all the time away from DD for the first time
. I just want to curl up in a ball and turn off the phone.

Re: Job seekers unite in here!
Is there no way they will let you have reduced hours ellabella? Sh*t isn't it? I lost out on two jobs recently because I don't want to do full time.
Ideally I would make enough from my editing business to keep me going another two years but in reality I need a 'proper' job. Childcare is just so scarce here though. I have two applications in - one a 'big' job, a promotion on my last one really (that I left 3.5 years ago) and one more temp/pt/projecty.

I work sat and Sunday now which is horrible. I need something for through the week so I can spend time with my family. Finding it very isolating atm
