What shall we read in October?

We are racing towards the end of the month, so it is time to start thinking about the book club October read. All suggestions welcome!

My suggestion is The Long Song, by Andrea Levy, which has been on the poll several times, but never chosen

I am also on a personal mission to tick off books from the '1001 books you must read before you die' list, so my other suggestion is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which are freeeee on the Kindle

Let us know what you fancy reading and I'll put a poll together

I've recently finished the Long Song for my IRL book group so would be nice to chat about it here, it was a really interesting, if harrowing read. I'm reading her other book Small Island now

I LOVED Small Island. I have also read The Fruit of the Lemon, which was also excellent. I love her writing style.

Love song looks quite good to me. Although I would prefer a 'free' book as I'm brassic

I hope I'm allowed to chip in, as I didn't read the September book - I had a lot going on during that month, and just didn't fancy reading it at all

I'd like to mention What Katie Did by Susan Coolidge again, as it never got chosen last time. And I saw a review for a book recently and thought it'd be good for the book club, but I've forgotten the title If I remember, I'll post it!

Definitely Dilly! I read What Katy Did recently after you suggested it and loved it. It's on the list. I shall do a poll this evening, so any further suggestions today please!

Ok, just went to look at the magazine I was reading to check the name of that book!

It was Darkside, by Belinda Bauer - a psychological thriller. I also fancy the new Ian Rankin, but it's not released until 13 October.

Darkside looks good, thanks for looking it up!
