Prob wrong forum - night lights with stars/cars/dinosaurs?

Has anyone ever seen those swirling night lights anywhere other than in an American film? You know the ones that float cars/solar system/dinosaurs etc onto the ceiling?

And are they a good or bad idea for an 18month+?

My nephew has started needing a dim nightlight otherwise he doesn't sleep very well and thought this might be something he can keep for when he is older

Admittedly am trying to ignore the memories of them being in horror films (usually) and I always wanted one so maybe I'm overlooking the obvious unsuitability

My DS had one but it was quite noisy.
