Dropping the nap- how did it go for your lo's?
With Conor it was a verrry gradual process over a period of about 4 mths or so. he stopped napping at nursery, then he'd only nap on the weekends on the sofa with Daddy and finally not at all.
Declan appears to be taking things a whole lot quicker. last week he didn't nap twice, so OK, this is the start, I thought. But now it's been 3 days in a row where he hasn't napped. he wont get one tomorrow either as he's starting playgroup, so almost a week of no napping.
I'm not sure if this is it entirely or what. I guess after tomorrow I'll keep taking him up and seeing what happens and if we get beyond a week or so then i guess thats it.
Is it usual for the nap to go so suddenly?

I dropped DS's, on the day he turned 3 - he'd been complaining about it for a couple of months but still slept a bit. DD dropped hers even more suddenly, went from 3 hours a day and asking to go, to nothing literally overnight. Took her a few weeks not to be crabby come 4pm, but she started going to bed earlier to compensate.

OK, so this could be it then? I'm not putting Dec to bed any earlier, as they go to bed at the same time, but he is sleeping in later- 8am on Sunday!

Re: Dropping the nap- how did it go for your lo's?
Lordy, this is becoming a nightmare!
He is sooo tired, could do with a nap every few days really, but will he sleep? Will he heck. Today he's been yawning all morning and is now this tired screaming whinging mess. Might have to go for a drive to force a bit of a sleep for him. I've tried to put him in bed but he just doesn't sleep when he's up there, simply messes around, talks, sings, etc.
Hope he gets used to this soon!
