Glasses and raging headaches wwyd?
Got glasses from boots in january and id say since march ive had problems.i got 2 new pairs
March at nose pads glasses startes to rub and id have red marks and.id get headaches on and off,i went in 6-7 times and told they just needed adjusted, the adjustments lasted a week or so before it was back
In june I was told by another optician they didnt fit and no adjusting would sort it,this was when I got my sunglasses
I went back to boots and actual optician looked at them and agreed said wasnt happy with fit.bit over nose was wrong width too small and no wonder I was getting marks and headaches
The replaced both frames at no cost to me great
Roll on to the day before yesterday and its back the same pressure on my nose and the headaches and its both pairs ive tried swapping
Painkillera dont really work only thing that does is taking my glasses off and even last night in bed once they were off it was there
Help wwyd I cant go on like this,in the zillions of years ive worn glasses ive never had a problem :'(

That is pretty crap services really, are you saying that they must have measured you up incorrectly for your normal glasses, in terms of the size and not the lenses?

Yeah basically the optician said the bit on the nose was too narrow but then it is just sales people once you have seen the optician
I did ask them how as they measure and was told it was actually measurement between 2 pupils they take not bridge of nose
When they swapped glasses I was told my old glasses were 15 a 16mm and ive double checked the number on both frames and they say 17 so 'should' be ok
With one of the original pairs my nose actually bled under the pad once

Re: Glasses and raging headaches wwyd?
When I've worn certain sunglasses I've gotten headaches - really bad one's too. But it's not the nose bridge that's the problem it's the stems that go over the ears that caused them... Took me ages to realise - do you think that could be part of the problem for you, too? x

Jeeez thats awful. I wear glasses so know how painful that must have been. Did you have new frames the second time around then? Sounds like the first ones were too small, the sales people should have noted that. Thats the trouble with having sales people fitting you and not the opticians.

I can really feel the pressure on my nose though suzi and the headaches almost start in the eye socket right where the pads sit and go into my head

I fear if I go near that optician tomorrow I may get arrested a I just feel the 350 I spent has been waste :'(

Yes anne when the optician said the first frames didnt fit they replaced the frames foc
When we found two that I liked and we thought fitted better the optician did look and say 'they fit better' before the ordered them for swapping so I just dont get it

I'd still go back. Its not normal for this to happen. Ask to see him again and explain. I'd have expected to all to be sorted with new frames.

I did too anne especially as ive had no probems with either pair since june
In june I had a sick day from work which is when I went into opticians as I needed a day in bed with no glasses to cure my headache
Gah the pain feels like a migraine almost that when you close your eyes and put your fingers in the eye socket a bit iyswim it gives a little relief
Also ill need to drag ds unless I wait until thur but I cant I dont think

Re: Glasses and raging headaches wwyd?
If it were me, I'd go back in asap and ask to start the whole process from scratch - free of charge, of course. If they can't do that, I'd ask for a refund and go elsewhere... hope you get it sorted soon and that the headaches go x
