Problem with local cricket club - is there some higher being we can go to?

what about trying to find out who their insurers are and having a word with them?
Any claim you may make in the future will be dealt with by them and i wouldn't have hought they would be too pleased to find that the club has done nothing about a possible incident occurring.

We got together with the neighbours last night for a chat and one of them has a sister who is a solicitor so he's going to get on to her today

In the meantime, I phoned the council at 9am this morning and had a massive rant. 10 minutes later a h&s official rang back and they're meeting us at home at 4pm this afternoon to have a look at the layout of the pitch, proximity of wicket to the houses, etc so fingers crossed they're going to do something

He's a lovely bloke (not). I was talking to one of the other neighbours last night and his house backs on to the club house. They were having a party a few weeks ago and the neighbour went round at 3am to ask them to turn the music down and got told the "cricket clubs been here for 150 years" thing as well. I think he thinks it gives him the right to behave like a complete git

One of the other neighbours have lived there aice the houses were built and apparently there's a bit of a dispute between our landlord and the chairman so I think we're stuck in the middle of their p*ssing contest

Hopefully the council are now on the case, the bloke said they hadn't realised they'd moved the wicket so it was much closer to the houses and the public footpath. He doubts their insurers know either as they wouldn't be covered for public liability with out the nets

I think I'd be on to the local paper and whatever TV new station covers your area as well. I'm sure the Cricket Club wouldn't want to be shown to be as uncaring about public safety as they've been so far.

And I'd also agree with whoever said to you to get onto their insurers. If the Cricket Club want to play nasty, they will have to take responsibility for their action.

Really hope you can get a swift resolution to this. Ridiculous that you are afraid to let your children play in what should be the safety of their own back garden.

If I were you I'd hold off getting onto their insurer, for the simple fact that if they pull the coverage and your window is broken again, you could find yourself having to argue the case with the cricket club knob and I would not see him being as quick to settle up with you as the insurance company are - you're be cutting off your own nose if you contacted the insurers in the long run.
