Wacky phobias!
Does anyone else here have any weird fears or phobias they just can't explain?!
I'm ok with Dentists. I can sit in their chair for hours having needles & instruments going in & having the Dentist groping around in there (pardon the expression!) but as soon as the Nurse stands up & he/she starts rattling around, ripping up cardboard boxes, opening drawers & clanging around & scrubbing things in them, my hair stands on end & my flesh crawls & I can't get out of there quick enough!
I've never had any bad experiences with Dentists, never been told off by them or shouted at by them or their Nurses or any member of their staff so I can't explain why the Nurses actions terrify me but they do for some reason!
I'm also scared stupid of Venus Fly Traps! My parents had one years ago on the livingroom windowsill when I was a teenager & I was absolutely terrified of it & refused point blank to get anywhere near it; it gave me nightmares & I threatened to poison it to death if they didn't get rid of it! They gave it to a neighbour! To this day, at the age of 46, if I accidentally see them anywhere I have the same reaction to when I see an Arachnid-sheer panic!
Am I strange or just odd?!

Trifle! That's hilarious

Mine is flies. Not that unusual really I suppose but if one landed on mine or the girls food even for a second it would all be chucked.
When they are in the house I get really anxious and can't relax until I have chased it out of the window. Can't kill them in case when they are splattered the eggs fly out
In fact typing this I realise that flies aren't really the issue it's the fact they lay maggots which I really, really have issues with.

Mines kittens
I can't really explain why, I can appreciate they're cute in pictures just in real life they kind of creep me out.
I don't have my spider reaction to them though I do avoid them if I know a friend has got one I don't visit until they are much bigger.Stropy x

You know those tunnels you have to go through to get onto a plane? Well I have a real phobia about going through them
I am convinced I am going to either suffocate in it or fallen through it
I also will do anything to avoid walking up steps that are open or across bridges that are wooden so have gaps

I can't stand the sight of tiny circles grouped close together, I don't know how else to explain it, but it completely freaks me out even thinking about it.

It's going up stairs for me.
I totally panic and freak out if I have to go up stairs that don't have a bannister/hand rail, as I'm convinced I'm going to fall backwards and smash my head open. I have been known to almost crawl up on all fours if there is nothing to hold on to. It comes from a recurring dream I had when I was younger.
And escalators are horrific, as all I can think about is all that metal and how much damage it'll do if I fall backwards down it. I can feel my heart rate increasing and my palms getting sweaty as soon as I step on one. Esp those REALLY long ones!
But coming DOWN stairs OR escalators are no problem at all.

I can not stand railway crossings. The thought of having to drive over one makes me nurvous.
