Recommend a family holiday destination abroad?

    Hi ladies,

We are planning a family holiday abroad next year for myself, OH and DS who is 6 years old.

We want somewhere suitable for adults and children, with clean sandy beaches, plenty to do and see, nicer pools or water park on site etc. Something that is a great all rounder.

Any recommendations would be great I'M looking for ideas and inspiration!

    Thanks ladies

I am looking at the moment for the same sort of thing but prices are so expensive. At the moment for 4 of us we are looking at £2500 for 11 nights self catering so have decided to go All Inclusive as it seems better value but then looking in excess of £3k.

Anyway having scoured Trip Advisor the places that stand out are Puerto Pollensca (been there its lovely!) or Cala Bona in Majorca, Cala n Bosch in Menorca, Portinatx in Ibiza, Sharm El Sheik, Antalya in Turkey and Paphos in Cyprus. At the moment I am leaning toward the new Holiday Village in Cala n Bosch.

I will be eagerly waiting to hear other recommendations!

I'm in love with Malaysia atm!
Cheap flights with air asia will get you to Kuala Lumpur and then from there you could fly to Penang or Langkawi island off the West Coast; it's officially the wet season that time of year but Malaysia isn't too badly affected by this - it's humid and there might be an hour of heavy rain a day but you can go about your business happily.
Let me know if you want anymore tips; true paradise lies off the East Coast on the islands there but there a little more complicated to get to. (Although you could fly to Tiomon from KL).

We have been to the Murcia region in Spain few times. It has cost less than 2k. we don't do a package holiday, we book a villa usually with a pool on a golf resort do our own flights and car hire. I love that we are independent and L loves having the pool.

If we did a package holiday we would be cooped up in a 1 bed apartment or hotel room. i like a bit of luxury on holiday!!
