argh - conjunctivitis and me stuck at home!
took Laura to the docs this morning as she has had stuck together eyes the last few mornings. She has conjunctivitis and has antibiotic eye drops for it. I thought best to phone nursery and check and have been asked to keep her at home. I am totally at a loss now - I was going to be driving straight into town (and nursery) from the docs but have had to come back home. Spose I will potter about, part of me wants to drive into town (45 minutes) but am skint so shouldn't really. Bah! There is always stuff to do here, but I was thinking I would be out of the house today. I have things I can be getting on with though. It's a gorge day outide so suppose we could take the dogs for a nice walk this affy - although nothing too strenuous with my crappy cold (DH said it would do me good to take a day off but I was being brave going in!).
Doh!

I can't believe they won't let you put her in. Our nursery are fine al long as they have ointment/drops for it. How long do you have to keep her off for?

Re: argh - conjunctivitis and me stuck at home!
well at first her key worker said "it's highly contagious and we usually ask parents to keep them off 48 hours after the antibiotic drops start". I then argued that she'd had it for two days previously (and I didn't realise it was an infection, just thought she was rubbing snot up there in the night). She said she would speak to the manager and call me back. She called me back and said the same, but only I would know how bad it was. It IS bad, and I couldn't really argue it wasn't. Plus, if they decided it was bad they would get me to take her home anyway, and we'd have driven in to Aberdeen for nothing. So at that point I just agreed to keep her off.
She doesn't go back to Cults nursery til Tuesday next week now, but is due in at Alford - wonder what to say to them tomorrow - maybe I should ring them first. Although I don't want to be responsible for it being passed around I suppose.

I'd just turn up at Alford with your drops and if they query it say that the Doc said it OK - but then I am a baaaaaaaaaad mummy!
Also I'd make sure you have a copy of whatever both nurseries policy is on illness so that you are aware for the future.
