Re: Caitlin Moran- How To Be A Woman discussion thread
I'm a little younger, but basically this. I also agree with Cymber. Nothing that she said was a huge revelation, but it is still well worth being reminded of. I follow her on twitter too and she cracks me up. I think she has a great attitude to life. I'm not a particularly happy in my skin, strong kind of girl, and it is useful to remind me that actually handbags are not the be all and end all sometimes.
I also found the abortion chapter the most challenging to read. I hadn't expected it, and hadn't flicked further into the book beforehand, so didn't see it coming at all. It is not a situation that I have been in, and I thought it was very well written, and a very different take on the situation from features I have read in magazines in the past.
Generally, I thought it was an enjoyable book, unchallenging (I mean that as in readable, not as a negative) and although it won't change my life, it has reminded me of a few things in a timely manner, so I am glad that I read it.

I'm older and I'm only half way through but the CAPITAL letters every page are starting to bug me. I agree with her about pants though!

Yes I found that a bit annoying as well, thats how you email a friend when ranting, not write a book IMO. (I am guilty of CAPITAL letters, but I know I'm being childish when I do it).
I guess if you're in a place where you need a bit of perspective then it is good read.

For some reason, I thought the CAPITAL letters were INSPIRED; they cracked me up for some reason and turned what was a good, but not earth-shattering book into a really amusing, intelligent and 'wise' read...

Yes, I liked the capitals too, which is odd as normally that would annoy me. But it is the same way that she tweets when she gets enthused about something, and I found it really friendly iykwim.
