Re: June Book Club Poll
We need some more votes to break the deadlock! Anyone is free to join us in reading the book and chatting about it afterwards, the more the merrier. There are some great books in the poll this month.

Re: June Book Club Poll
I have voted strategically (
) to see if I can help things out! I have already read The Railway Detective, Cranford and Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, and although I liked the sound of Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, I realised that wouldn't help things much!
Anyway, I'm off on my hols for a week now, but I'm sure you'll choose a good one for me to get my teeth into on my return

Hurrah, we managed to sneak a winner, thanks BellaDonna! June's book will be Sarah Waters 'The Little Stranger'. I can't wait to read it.

Excellent! I will buy this when my replacement Kindle turns up - till then I am stuck with old-fashioned paper books

Re: June Book Club Poll
Aww Bella I read your thread, that's awful!
I've just finished a "paper book" I have been reading for a while, not sure if I'll move straight on to this, or have a bit more of a bash at Jonathan Strange, which I do like but is just very long!

Re: June Book Club Poll
I've heard that Jonathan Strange is good, if a little bit, erm, strange! One day I will get around to reading it, it's been on my bookshelf for about 5 years now!
Am just finishing Started Early... (which I am loving), and then I will get cracking with The Little Stranger.

Re: June Book Club Poll
I found the first quarter or so of Jonathan Strange a bit hard going, but then either got into it more, or it got easier to read. Either way, I really enjoyed it by the end!
My Kindle has arrived!
I can buy the book now!
(Overjoyed, as I was fed up with losing the page as my bookmark fell out again... and again... and again... repeat until you are bored...
