Thanks for doing this, Sarah. I voted for the Kate Atkinson, as I've just finished it!

Re: June Book Club Poll
It's a tough decision this month! I have gone with The Long Song as I've been waiting to read it for ages, but there are about 6 on here sitting on my bookshelf, so I'll be happy with most of them.

Re: June Book Club Poll
I voted for The Little Stranger - was going to go for Jonathan Strange but I didn't realise it was ultra long (I have it on Kindle). I really shouldn't buy any new books (unless the Damsels make me do it!)

PS for the Kindle-rs, I think they are all available from the Amazon UK Kindle store except Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now but that's really cheap second hand.

Re: June Book Club Poll
Oooh good suggestions Dr S
And impressive poll SarahR
I've voted for Cranford as I bought it for £1 the other day on my Kindle and did not watch it on the telly. I loved Wives and Daughters so I think I will like it.
I've read Jonathan Strange and Started Early; they are both good. I'm a bit behind on reading as I am half way through the Surgeon of Crowthorne but I also have my IRL book group book which is a struggle and am trying to find one for next time as it's my choice next
I will do my best though

Re: June Book Club Poll
I did think of this
The ones we have had so far are all relatively new and a bit "thought provoking" - although the next one after me has chosen hers and it is One Day (which I read ages ago and then gave away
) My own choices would be something like Louis de Bernieres or Gabriel Garcia de Marques but I think no one would turn up to the meeting
I am a bit interested in the Andrea Levy one which I think might go down well
I have three days at home alone next week as OH is away and J is galivanting with the grand-rents so will buckle down and do a lot of reading

Re: June Book Club Poll
Fifi, if you need another copy of One Day, pm me your details and I will post mine to you when I am finished. I can't imagine I will want to re-read it in years to come!
