Continuing from Auroras thread...What about age gaps and sharing bedrooms?
I would really like a 4th one day, but I love my house!
We only have 3 beds with the girls sharing already but I wondered if anyone has any experience of an older and a younger one sharing and if its ok?
Im only of the view that this would be until they reach teens - gives me chance to put a hole in the mortgage or possibly pay it off before we could move or buy another and let this house so I can return one day

Re: Continuing from Auroras thread...What about age gaps and sharing bedrooms?
We have 14 and 11 year old girls sharing with my 6 year old DS when they're here. It works really well because DS is in bed at least an hour and half before they are so is sound asleep by the time they go up and chat.
Toys was an issue for a while but the girls now have a separate storage bit that DS can't get in to.

Re: Continuing from Auroras thread...What about age gaps and sharing bedrooms?
Before we moved here we lived in a 2 bed house. My SD and dd1 shared a room and there is 10 years between them. There was no real issue, in fact it worked well as when dd1 had a nightmare she would hop into bed with SD. Now we're in a 3 bed and SD has her own room and dd1 and dd2 share.

Re: Continuing from Auroras thread...What about age gaps and sharing bedrooms?
A few people said to me that the boys could share a bedroom but i think the age gap is to big for it & by the time it comes to Zack being at the age to share a room Alfie is going to be 8/9. He wont want to share his room at that age & i wouldnt expect him to either.
If i fell pregnant again & it was another boy then Zach & that baby could share a room, but if it was a girl well i dont know what i would do
i guess they would have to share for abit & id have to co-ordante the room to suit both but then the age gap would be alot smaller..

C will be sharing a room with the baby when its 6 mths ish. So there will be around 6 years age gap. She really doesn't want to swap rooms so has said she will share. Not sure how it would work if this one is a boy, they could share for a little while but then I imagine it would get put in with S so both boys together.

Re: Continuing from Auroras thread...What about age gaps and sharing bedrooms?
For a few years DS2 (12) and DS3 (8) have shared - it was OK but there were tensions. We recently changed to DS1 (14) sharing with DS2 and that works far better, they both being of a similar age. But my gosh what a mess the bedroom is - total teenage shit heap!!!

I shared with both my sisters until my older sister moved out at 16. It was a little cramped but not too bad.

My boys share and it works fine at the moment but I can see DS1 wanting his own 'space' soon.
Not sure what we'll do then (other than the Lottery answer!)=
