This is honestly not a good option as there are far more ways to cope up with something than alcohol intake.
Probably the reason for this is that you dwell too much on that thing that you want out. I mean, do not give yourself the time to let it get into your mind. I know that is easier said than done, but there are a lot f things you can do.
Talk to your family, go out with your friends. It would be better to spend all those sleepless nights out than keeping everything to yourself.
