What are your wardrobe staples atm?
At the risk of sounding like a chav
I sold some gold yesterday so I can treat myself to some new clothes
I've lost 17lbs now so a lot of my clothes are a bit loose on me, I'm looking forward to being able to buy size 10's without having to squeeze myself into them or blaming the shops sizing for me having to go up a size!
Anyway - my current wardrobe is rather drab and full of black & grey clothes. What are you mostly wearing just now? I have been having a nosey through the what are you wearing and what have you bought threads but I only have a small amount of money (up to £200 max) to basically put together a spring / summer wardrobe and I'm not sure where to start!

Re: What are your wardrobe staples atm?
I`m wearing lots of Navy (as always) mixed with white, pink, red, tan and I`m loving cropped flares with T`s and blazers. Just got my Russell & Bromley cork wedges out of storage today and starting to wear print 50s influenced dresses with little cardis and nude shoes. I also might wear a maxi with a blazer for the first time this spring to work tomorrow.

Re: What are your wardrobe staples atm?
At the moment, I'm generally wearing straight leg jeans with ballet pumps, 3/4 sleeve tops in a variety of styles (quite a lot of stripes!), cardigans, scarves, chino type trousers (I have one pair in navy from Zara), maxi skirts with ballet pumps, with or without tights.
I'd like to wear blouses but can't seem to find any that suit me. I'm also looking for a nice blazer as I think that would work well atm.

Re: What are your wardrobe staples atm?
well done on the weight loss RT! that's impressive.
I wear loads of grey and black too, but I just embrace it now - it suits me, its easy and its versatile! I'm a real scarf fan so brighten things up with a big oversize scarf usually. The odd fuschia bit is my way of colour popping!
Am also a big fan of striped tops, and I've a few staple waterfall cardis in various colours.
Enjoy your shopping trip!

Re: What are your wardrobe staples atm?
I have LOADS of stripey tops for the boys but hardly any for me so I'll look out for some. Wedges are something I need too. I used to have more colour in my wardrobe but I think I've been giving stuff to charity when it doesn't fit and now it would fit again I don't have much left
Blazer would be useful too, I have a lot of cardis but nothing a bit more dressy.

Re: What are your wardrobe staples atm?
Well done RT! You could get a good few staples from H&M, Zara, Uniqlo, New Look etc with £200

Maybe check out some of the lookbooks on different sites for ideas, think of main occasions eg days with kids, evenings out, slightly smart, beachwear etc - and try to choose something for each, with some items overlapping for more than one occasion.
So maybe a dress, top and trousers that can be dressed down with flats for day and up with heels for evening.
A few casual tees/vest tops
A cardi - day or evening
A light fitted blazer - day or evening
Jeans
A longline tunic/blouse
Sundress
Swimsuit
Flat sandals
Heels/wedges
How does that sound?

Re: What are your wardrobe staples atm?
Thanks Sparkly, great ideas. TBH I mainly go to work or slob about the house atm, but I'm on holiday from work this week so this is when you realise your non-working clothes are sadly lacking!

Re: What are your wardrobe staples atm?
Inspired by the more organised laydees on here I'm really trying to think of clothes I need for specific occasions when I shop and buying in outfits/to create outfits from existing pieces rather than just purchasing randoms atm. Otherwise I just buy bits and bobs just because I like them, and still end up with nothing to wear or too much of the same thing, despite a wardrobe full of clothes!
