Re: What have you read recently?

I'm reading a book of short stories about love called 'My Mistress's Sparrow Is Dead', edited by Jeffrey Eugenides (one of my all-time favourite writers). I've really enjoyed most of the stories so far, although a couple just bored me.

I've just downloaded another Jojo Moyes book, 'the girl you left behind'. I've read the sample.

I have been trying to read 'the Hundred Year Old Man who climbed out of a window' (or something like that ) for Book Club but it bores me rigid so I gave up and read the new Marian Keyes in one sitting instead

    Excellent RGK!

I'm reading The Private Patient by PD James which is awfully Agatha Christie country house murder, and next up is The Secret Life of Bees for book group, which I think I have read before but am not sure!

I'm reading tons more since I bought my kindle.

I've recently read Before I Go To Sleep, which I loved. I also loved The Love of my Life by Louise Douglas.

I'm currently reading Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia which is quite badly written actually and I'm not loving the story, but it's one of those books which isn't quite bad enough to stop reading but not one that I'm desperate to read a bit more of. I wouldn't really recommend it.

I am reading Cutting for Stone for my book club which I think may have been mentioned oN this thread earlier. It's a fab read, really recommend it. I have put all the Booker Prize short list on order at the library and have just started The Lighthouse and am really enjoying it.

I read this recently; it had been ages since I read any PD James but I quite enjoyed it

I am now reading Le Grand Meaulnes by Alain-Fournier; I read it at school and loved it, and it's just as good as a grown-up

I've finished this and also, Thursdays in the park. It was only 20p on Kindle. Very easy reading but I enjoyed it.
