Temporary window panes for a greenhouse?
Our rented place has a lovely big greenhouse which I want to make use of. Problem is that 3 of the glass panes have been broken and so there are some rather big holes, it is going to cost about £100 to replace them with PVC ones due to their size. We can't really afford to do it until May/June but I'd quite like to get some bits planted in April
Is there anything very cheap that I can use to seal up the holes until we can get it sorted properly???

Re: Temporary window panes for a greenhouse?
we just bought a few panes of glass for our greenhouse & they cost about £4 each from a local diy shop who cut them to size. We had about 4 broken panes, so not too much ateotd. £100! is there any glass left in the greenhouse?
You could try posting on freecycle and asking if anyone has any spare greenhouse glass. Or buy larger panes & cut them yourself? I don't know about pvc panes.
A quick fix might be to buy a sheet of clear plastic & stick it over the holes. This is what we did until we realised the glass was so easy to replace.

Where did you girls get them from then? The local B&Q charges about £25 for a small panel and online the only things that we have found are plastic sheets which are just as expensive. The panes are pretty huge, one of them is the full height of the greenhouse as it's the one next to the door and the other two are at least half the height.

Go to either a small independent DIY shop or a glazier with your (exact) measurements, and they'll cut you a bit.
