    Paper mache letters - painting

I've seen some paper mache letters in my local hobbycraft and want to paint my son's name for his bedroom.

What do you think will be the best and long lasting way to do this?

Might do HOME for the living room as well.

    Cheers

I would put a coat of cheap and cheerful plain emulsion first, to provide a base and it will probably soak some up. Then top coat of eggshell/satin, for a good solid finish and durability for dusting.

They suggest using spray paint to paint the paper mache...
