Claiming on your bank insurance for a mobile phone
My phone is fecked (i have a blackberry) & have had nothing but problems with it. I only got it in April
It freezes, keys arent working, it keeps asking me to asign a speed number. Keeps adding N's in when im trying to text
This is the 2nd time in about 8 weeks this has happened.
I am going to claim on my phone insurance though my bank i think, i have this in place & also insurance through Phones for you, I have not used my phone all day today & was going to phone my bank tomorrow & say that i have lost it
I bank with First Direct not sure what the excess is, i know it is about £70.
I am going to go down this route as i dont want to be without a phone for 4 weeks, they dont give out replacements anymore i also know that if it goes back this time i will get a reconditioned phone which i dont want.
If i go through my insurance i get a new one & it will prob take a few days to a week & this is what i would prefer
Has anyone claimed through there insurance (bank) is it easy & quite hassel free what was your excess??? I have looked through the policy i cant see it saying anywhere about a excess?

Surely it should still be under warranty?

Re: Claiming on your bank insurance for a mobile phone
i had to fill in a form, semd the handset away for inspection and they sent me a new one. excess was £30.
when it was stolen all I needed to do was provide the police incident/ crime number and they sent me a new one, same excess. bank with LTSB if that's useful?!
hope you get it sorted xx

It will be under warranty but if it's anything like what my OH is going through they still only send it away for repair and then you only get a reconditioned one if they can't fix it.
I personally think if it's under warranty and they can't fix it they should give you a brand new phone but that just doesn't happen

Il drop it in water then & claim for water damage=Waxy Bean;3113316]You do know that this is insurance fraud and quite simply illegal. By claiming for a phone that is not lost you are increasing premiums for everyone.
Sorry, but this is something that I feel quite strongly against.

I think you need to be quite insistent about getting a new one as they haven't been able to fix it. I really, really wouldn't commit fraud.

I'm with Waxy. Not only is it illegal, it's selfish because it increases premiums for everyone else.
You should absolutely go back to the shop and explain the difficulties you've been having with it.
