    Open University-Exploring Psychology.

I am thinking about enrolling on this course and wanted advice or views on it.

Has anyone done it? What did you think to it and would you recommend it?

Any thoughts or views will be appreciated.

Not done it but would also be interested in thoughts on the matter.

Really want to start on an OU course (prob Jan) but don't know where to start in making choices

    Hiya,
I did this course last Sept, with the exam being in June and the results out in a couple of weeks. So I don't want to commit myself too much without the results

I did find the course very interesting, and certianly thought-provoking. The first half was fine, but I found the second half very hard going - we had one assignment per month in the second half so the turnaround with reading on top was quite The other thing was I found it quite frustrating being limited as to what I could really put into it, I have always excelled academically and this was nigh on impossible working 4 days per week and having 2 ids on top. It does take a LOT to motivate yourself to do the reading/ stay on top of the assignments. I also think your experience is very driven by the uality of your tutor, mine was realy good so the tuts and support were fab.

I obviously found it interesting enough as I have just signed up for the online 'summer course' which runs Oct - Feb (just in time for baby! ) The alternative though is a one week residential course in either July or Aug which just isn't an option of me with childcare/ work.
no matter how far you have travelled down the wrong road, you can always turn around.

I have just completed Exploring Psychology and can totally recommend it! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Although I have to say it is quite intense, you need to submit an assignment once a month and there is quite a bit of reading to do. It is the perfect intro to psychology though if you haven't done much before. I am just about to start the Conversion Diploma in Psychology now.

I can email you the study programme from work tomorrow, which might give you a better idea of the course.
