Re: best newborn toy??
Toby loved one of those bendy flowers with the smiley face. He was 3 weeks old at christmas and Ollie got it for him. We put it on the car seat so he could see it when we went out and he used to smile at it and gurgle to it.

you cna get sort of little blankets witha soft toy right at the top - T has a humphrey's corner one and has always LOVED it - it acts as a cmforter now
no matter how far you have travelled down the wrong road, you can always turn around.

They sell them in loads of gift shops these days. I bought a load in the Co op too.
They cost about £3 and he still plays with it 10 months later.

I don't think rattles etc are any good for newborns as they can't hold them obviously. The BEST thing we EVER bought Lucy and i WISH i'd used it from day one was this...

Probably more than you wanted to spend but it was FAB and i only put it up in the loft when she was 11 months because she was using it as a surf board

Dylan's absolute favourite as a newborn was his play mat from M&P. He also adored his Tiny Love cot mobile. He didn't really bother with anything else until he was a bit older.
