Re: *kate* - how is everything going?
Thanks for thinking of me Minky, I tried the eating later thing and the stuffing her with food the day after I posted. She had 6oz at 6am, 9.30, 12.30 with food, 3.00 and 3oz with dinner at 5.30. She was STUFFED!
Wouldn't drink much of her bedtime milk and still woke up twice
but went back to sleep until 6.30am which was an improvement.
So yesterday I tried tweaking the timings and dinner was at 5, meaning she drank all of her bedtime milk. She STILL woke twice
but again, didn't wake until after us this morning
It must be habit now, she could not possibly be hungry after all the food and milk she's having. Miss SC has very kindly sent me her GF books so I'm going to have a looky at them tonight to get some more suggestions.
Thanks for thinking of me though

Hope GF can help you out Kate, but in the meantime, its good you feel you are making some progress and that she is sleeping later!
no matter how far you have travelled down the wrong road, you can always turn around.

Re: *kate* - how is everything going?
Just thought that I'd update.......
Having tried everyone's suggestions it seems to be working (fingers crossed) - ok I haven't actually had a night's sleep but she is only waking once per night now, and sleeping until about 7 which is the "ideal" waking time according to GF.
This means that I can loosely structure the day around GF's routine and she sleeps better at night. Also we're all less grumpy during the day. The teatime feed is still a bit iffy though, although I've moved it later (and started feeding carbs at that feed) - Josie still does the back arching and moaning because she's tired. I just don't seem to have the afternoon sleep right yet, but that'll come in time. Meanwhile I'm feeling better for the extra sleep.
I'm so very grateful for all the suggestions and support you all gave me.

Thats fab Kate, sounds like you are really getting there.
And on the tiredness thing, Isabel sleeps as much as she wants to in the day, but come 5.30pm she is still grizzly and tired

Lois is the same, she has well over 3 hours sleep in the day, but is always tired at 5.30, and manages to sleep through the night no matter what.
