DS ended up in A&E tonight
He's better now..
OH took him out today for about 4hrs while I did some house work. He took some Aptamil carton formula in a bottle with his (11am) just in case.*
I didn't have EBM and knew DS would sleep most the time and would be back for the feed. They got back, I fed DS.
I carried on with house work, was done by when DS was due another feed around 6ish. DS started crying and I was in the shower so OH gave him formula..the bottle that had been out since 11ish...I came downstairs OH gave me DS to feed and went to do dinner.
I noticed the half empty bottle on the table and asked him if he'd just given him the formula and OH sad yeah..
I was not happy..a) we had decided to exclusivly BF DS b) OH has been very supportive and encouraging at times even when I wanted to mixed feed c) the formula has been out for a while!!
Any way we had words and I carried on BFing DS that feed, hoping DS would be OK as thr formula has been out with them in the cold.*
An hr later DS started throwing up..few big throw ups then a few posseting type throw ups..he was loosing colour. I called NHS direct, they did their checks and said a nurse would call back. DS was still retching and throwing up..now more sticky yellow stuff, then started shivering. Oh, he had runny stools too, we were on our 3rd nappy since this started!
Called NHSD again spoke to a nurse who did more checks and them asked us to go to A&E! DS was looking tired /struggling to stay awake now and also pale. We made a quick dash, got seen in 5mins by a nurse who did his ops and stats, marked him as 3 on the emergency/severity scale. We then got a doc check him over and said he's OK, little 'dry' but we are ok to take him home, So we are home now.
DS has had a big feed, just vomitted while latched on...
He's now had 2 small feeds and is next to me on the sofa. I don't think I'm sleeping tonight. Hoping he'd keep the feeds down, need to feed him every 2hrs.*
OH is pretty shaken up too, bless him.*
What a way to mark his 3months and he's not going to gain any weight this week either :(
I feel so drained now..

Thanks, I could do with some hugs.
No, didn't ask us to come back, said he should be on in the next two days.

Re: DS ended up in A&E tonight
Just watch him TS. If he is still being sick after every feed in the morning I'd call the GP. Its so easy for them to get dehydrated when they are this small.

Will do, yes that's my worry too. I keep checking for his pinky fingers, fontanelle and skin plumping.

oh tops how scary!! did they not give you any diagnosis as to whether they thought it was the formula or a bug? hope he keeps the rest of his feeds down - if he vomits again I would ring them back though just to check
fingers, toes etc crossed for danny boy sleeping and eating properly now
