Suggestions for a girls holiday?

Myself and 3 friends are hoping to have a weekend away in the summer but we;re a little stuck on where to go. Between us we've done Barcelona, Madrid, Marbella, Ibiza, Paris, Venice, Rome and Amsterdam. We want somewhere with some sun, cool bars, a bit of a buzzy atmosphere but not full on hedonisim

, not hugely expensive and within a couple of hours flight. We've thought about Croatia but does anyone else have any suggestions?

These were my two suggestions when we were having the exact same conversation a couple of weeks ago!

Apparently though Marrakech whilst great for a couples holiday (gorgeous hotels and amazing restaurant experiences) the girls who have been said it's probably not the best for a girls weekend away. Basically the restaurants aren't really geared up for girls only and ditto things to do during the day, other than spas in the hotels.

I was gutted as I really want to go but DH would rather chew his arm off than go there

Palma I'd definitely recommend. Not that I've been there personally but DH has been and raves about it. Plus a girlfriend had her hen night there a couple of years ago and they had the most fantastic time (I couldn't go as was up duffage and am dull beyond dull when I can't drink

)

There is an amazing v reasonable boutique hotel there that I can recommend and remember if you're interested.

I'd LOVE to go to Marrakech but I'm thinking it wouldn't be be quite what we're looking for

Himself is also not keen on going KK

I have been to Palma but I've not stayed there so yes any recs would be fabulous

Has anyone been to Croatia?

I went to Croatia, oh my god, 13 years ago

It was the first year any UK tourists went back after the war. We went to the Istrian Peninsula which is right at the top by Italy and it was absolutely gorgeous.

But it now probably has no bearing on what it's like now

I'm such a feckwit extraordinaire, I don't even know if they have the Euro?

One of my friends did a girls holiday to Mykanos. I know that they had an utterly fabulous time.

Thanks Claire. I adore Greece - haven't been since I spent a couple of seasons there in my yoof. I'll put the suggestion forward.

I was going to mention Greece - Santorini in particular or Kefalonia, I've always wanted to visit the place where CC's Mandolin was filmed. There are loads of places to go to in Greece - I'd explore that or as you've mentioned, Croatia. I've ALWAYS wanted to visit there!
