Re: What pets for little ones?

I would vote for a laid back cat We've always had cats, since before the boys were born. They are both very good with animals, loving and kind, and complete cataholics now, like me

I like guinea pigs etc, but can't be doing with the cleaning out, plus you don't get to go to sleep with them purring at the end of your bed, which is very comforting if you've had a bad day

Can you still get tortoise? I thought you couldn't buy them for some reason

White rats are lovely and so much fun but guinea pigs get my vote, we are going to get 3 or 4 next year.

    How about some chickens?

I thought that too, but apparently you can now. You can even buy them online and get them posted to you for around £150 including P&P - bargain!

You can but you have to prove they were bred in the UK, not imported.

We inherited an ancient tortoise from my Great Uncle. He was called Percy (the tortoise, not my uncle) and used to spend his life mooching around the garden. He didn't wake up from hibernation one year, I think he must have been about 80.

I keep thinking about getting another one but they're quite expensive and they need tanks and heat lamps and all sorts I think
