April / May 09 Mummies - any other poor sleepers?
DD2 is such a pickle. I put her down approx 7pm. If I'm lucky, she'll go 2 hours. If not it's 45 mins. I've tried leaving her, she won't self settle. I know it's my own fault, she usually falls asleep on the boob and when I go in to settle her she drops off on my shoulder then wakes up the second I try to put her down. After her first waking once I've gone to bed she comes in with us, and isn't TOO bad then, BFing once or twice in the night (and I usually wake up in the morning to find her snacking on me, like some 24 hr diner
) .
Daytime naps are getting trickier too, she is much more resistant to dropping off in the morning, but if she does she sleeps for about 2 hours if left unwoken, which means she then doesn't want to sleep as much at lunchtime / or at the same time as DD1. I think DD1 was considerably older when she dropped the morning nap
Weaning has made very little difference to her sleeping.
How are the other 8 month old bubbas doing? Please tell me I'm not alone!

Is she still in your room? We moved J into his own room and it really did make all the difference. xxx

Re: April / May 09 Mummies - any other poor sleepers?
MP, my DD1 was a bit of a bugger for waking up as she was being put down into her cot. Eventually, I worked out that it may be the change in temperature from warm to cool that was waking her. I took to laying a blanket over us both as she was settling on my shoulder and than laying her on the blanket as I put her down IYSWIM so she wasn't being put down in a cold patch. It seemed to help and she's a good sleeper these days

Zach still wakes twice in the night and it is doing my head in! Last night I did tough love and didnt pick him up or feed him either time and although he cried a little her went back to sleep quickly so I know it is a bad habit!
I am going to see how we go tonight.. I feel for you though, it is horrid when they keep waking

Blah, she's a monster, a sleep stealing monster.
Still no sleeping through, up once or twice a night for a feed. Just getting her room finished then she's outta my bed!

Oh good, I'll take comfort in my company at least! Girlskull yes she's still in our room. We are thinking of moving her in with her big sister pretty soon (who incidentally was moved to her own room at 11 weeks and is a great sleeper) I wonder if they will keep each other up babbling away in the evenings though?!
WeeBird that is a good suggestion, that could well be the case and I am going to try the blanket technique
