Help! Absolute agony in my knee, can't put weight on it!

      This is weird

Yesterday spent majority of the day walking around.

Went to bed and felt NO different to I normally do.

Woke up in the night for the loo, and found my knee buckled under me and I had to nearly crawl to the loo.

Then when I got up this morning it was worse, and I have NO idea what it is??

I cannot walk up or down stairs, so it's a sit down and shuffle affair or try and jump one legged up the stairs!

The pain I feel when trying to crouch down is excruciating and bending and straightening the leg is just pure agony, in the whole knee!

WHAT could this be? It got a bit worse over the course of the day..

Has anyone got ANY idea what on earth it is?

I have problems with my knees and this happens to me from time to time. My knee used to go out from under me a lot when I was pregnant, think it's something to do with your ligaments stretching more.

Have you had any problems with that knee in the past?

If it is a trapped nerve...I tend to get one trapped in my back and it goes all down my right leg. I google bending techniques and try and bend it out.

      Worth a try maybe?

Ok- I tried that Marti, but unfortunately my knee is still really bad I can wlak, but it's such agony and I limp along like a very old stiff lady

I cannot sit on my knees on the floor for example or crouch down to pick stuff up, I have to keep legs straight to do that..

I was just out walking in the ice/snow and was SO scared of falling and damaging my knee more.

      ARRGGHH what IS it..

(I know I know- I should go to the GP..)

I had this after having DD1. Doctor told me its name, something long beginning with O. It could that. Is yours worse when you walk up or down stairs or hill?

I was told there was no treatment except rest and anti-inflammatories, I'm afraid. It went away after a few weeks. But I was near crippled at the time.

Sweets, do you think it could be to do with your E-D syndrome? (ie hypermobile joints?)

Maybe phone your local hospital to see if they have a Physio Direct service (self referrals)
